Materials & Craftsmanship
Yes. All Cappadocia rugs are hand-knotted by skilled artisans using traditional weaving techniques.
Because each rug is handmade using natural fibers and dyes, slight variations in tone and pattern are normal and part of the character of hand-knotted rugs.
Due to the handmade nature of our rugs, dimensions may vary slightly. A variation of approximately 3–5% is considered standard within the industry.
Our rugs are woven by experienced artisans in India using traditional hand-knotting techniques and carefully sourced materials with the guidance of our Istanbul based design team.
Custom Projects
Yes. Most designs can be produced in custom sizes to suit your project requirements.
In many cases, colors can be adjusted to better suit your space. Our team can guide you through available options.
Lead times vary depending on size, design complexity, and production scheduling. Our team will provide an estimated timeline when your order is confirmed.
Because custom rugs are made specifically for each project, they are considered final sale once production begins.
Yes. A 50% deposit or full payment is typically required before production begins to ensure timely delivery.
To begin a custom rug, our team works closely with you to understand your desired design, size, colors, and finishes. Once your specifications are approved, we create a strike-off, which is a small sample of the rug’s materials, dyes, and weaving techniques.
The strike-off allows you to see and feel the actual wool, colors, and textures before full production begins. Once you approve the strike-off, we begin weaving your custom rug according to the agreed specifications.

Exchanges are not standard, but our team will work with you to find the best solution if an issue arises.
Please follow the instructions on the invoice that is sent to your email address after your order has shipped.
Shipping & Delivery
Delivery timelines depend on whether the rug is in stock or made to order. For in stock orders, it usually takes 2-3 business days after your order has been processed to be delivered to you. Please contact us at info@cappadociarugs.com for ETA on out-of-stock rugs.
Yes. Tracking information can be found on the invoice that is sent to your email.
Please notify us within 48 hours of delivery and provide photos of the packaging and rug so we can assist with a claim.
Returns & Claims
Eligible stocked rugs may be returned within 15 days of delivery if they remain in original condition. Custom rugs are final sale.
Returned rugs that meet our return criteria will be credited to your account as store credit. A credit memo will be applied to your next invoice or order with Cappadocia Rugs.
Care & Maintenance
Yes. Shedding is normal and part of the natural fiber. It is more noticeable in high-traffic areas and will decrease over time. All Cappadocia wool rugs use long-fiber wool, which reduces shedding compared to shorter fibers.
Occasionally, longer yarn ends may appear on the surface of a handmade rug. These can be carefully trimmed and do not affect durability.
Yes. We recommend using a rug pad to improve comfort, extend the life of your rug, and help prevent movement.
Regular vacuuming without a beater bar is recommended. For deep cleaning, professional rug cleaning specialists are advised.
Vacuum regularly using suction only, no bristles or beater bars, which can pull or snag fibers. If a snag occurs, trim the yarn even with the pile instead of pulling it.
Blot spills immediately while wet, using a damp cloth. Avoid scrubbing or brushing, which can distort fibers or spread the stain. Gentle, color-fast soap may be used if necessary. For tough stains or deep cleaning, we recommend a professional rug cleaner experienced with fine rugs.
Harden the gum with ice, then gently scrape it off using a butter knife. Avoid pulling or scraping aggressively to protect the fibers.
Policies
Yes. Slight variations in color, tone, and size are natural characteristics of handmade rugs and are not considered defects.
Policies can be found on our website. Please contact our team if you would like any additional documentation.
